Stainless steel folded into a near cube. Four edges meeting a flat top with the precision of something that could not have been otherwise. At the base the steel curves gently away from the floor, lifting the mass into quiet suspension. Uncoated. Undecorated. The surface shifts between light and shadow as the day moves around it, dark at one hour, luminous at another, absorbing the room and returning it slowly, changed in some way that is difficult to name but immediately felt.
